An Email From Levi to Nana

My 2 year old grandson, Levi, found his favorite song and sent it to Nana today! Every time we get in the car he wants everyone in the car to sign this song.

The Olympic Games

The Olympic Games will open this week in Beijing.

Jade plays an important role in Chinese culture. To honor their culture Jade has been incorporated into the Olympic medals.

Peridot is the birthstone for August. Peridot was used quite often in ancient times by the Egyptians. They would call it “gem of the sun” because of the way it sparkles in the sun.
Peridot is actually a mineral named Olivine and comes in a variety of green colors from light yellowish green to a deep olive green.
Peridot is nicknamed the “evening emerald” because it was believed that it glowed in the dark. Peridot was mined at night. Miners would mark the spot where they were found and come back in the daylight to retrieve them.
Peridot has often been confused with Emerald.

Take Time To Smile!

I couldn’t resist posting this. Of course to really appreciate this beautiful smile you must be her proud Grandma.

This is my youngest grand daughter. She is now four months old and has stolen my heart.



Life speeds by so quickly that we must learn how to slow down to enjoy it along the way! Are you like me and say next year, in 3 years, maybe next week? Do it now!


Take time to enjoy your life at least every week and before you know it you’ll treasure that time each day.


After you read this post, close your eyes for 60 seconds, smile and thank God for all that he has given to you! No matter how many difficulties all of us are going through, we are each blessed. When you are climbing up that mountain just think about the cool water at the end and how much easier it will be when you reach the top. Focus on family and loved ones and know that you are never alone! Reach out and help someone else along the way.
By the way, I am not preaching; I am reminding myself :)

We have all been there and each of us has the power to make our lives better.
