In Loving Memory of Crickett Julius

Crickett Julius
1967-2006

Crickett’s Answer for Cancer is a nonprofit corporation that was formed in memory of Crickett Julius, who passed away in October of 2006, only four months after being diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer at the age of 39. Her mother and cousin founded Crickett’s Answer for Cancer to support women with breast cancer. They want to ensure their access to wigs, mastectomy products (i.e., bras, posthetics, and post-surgery camisoles), facials, mastectomy massage, and other pampering services, as a way to feel feminine and beautiful despite losing their hair and/or breasts.
Not surprisingly, the cost of breast cancer treatment can quickly erode a family’s savings and lead to overwhelming debt. A woman with breast cancer often feels a loss of her identity and self-esteem as a woman, but may not consider spending money on a wig or a pampering service because of viewing these things as frivolous. Crickett’s Answer for Cancer seeks to provide these items for women who wouldn’t be able to afford them otherwise. They rely on the kindness and generosity of our supporters, including a number of hair stylists, massage therapists, and aestheticians who so graciously offer their services to the patients we serve. You may also wish to support our cause by becoming a volunteer, purchasing an item from their online boutique, or making a tax-deductible donation to Crickett’s Answer for Cancer. In each of these ways, you CAN make a difference in the life of a woman with breast cancer. If interested, please contact crickettsanswerforcancer@comcast.net for more information.

Lynn,

Thank you so much for adding our organization, Crickett's Answer for Cancer, to your blog. My daughter was a lovely young woman and I want to memoralize her by helping women with breast cancer.

Wow! I'm headed there now. I have been looking for an organization such as this to help me offer support to my children's birth mother. She had a double mastectomy at the beginning of November.

Thanks again!
